The Padma Water Treatment Plant, which was undertaken by Sinomach subsidiary China CAMC Engineering Co Ltd (CAMCE) in Bangladesh, provides clean and safe surface drinking water for local people, and greatly enhances the capacity to supply purified water to the capital Dhaka, benefiting about three million residents.

The project, an important BRI cooperative undertaking for public well-being between China and Bangladesh, has contained the geological hazards caused by the excessive exploitation of local groundwater, improved the sanitary conditions, and played an important role in promoting local economic development and environmental protection.
Pokhara int'l airport brings a brighter future to Nepal
Chinese-built Pokhara International Airport, which was undertaken by Sinomach subsidiary CAMCE, has been handed over to Nepal. The airport is China's largest aid project in Nepal and a key Belt and Road cooperation project between the two countries.

The new airport is aimed at encouraging tourism in the Pokhara region, which is one of the popular tourist destinations in the country. The current airport has a short runway that has been experiencing technical difficulties.
The project, identified as Nepal's National Project of Honor, is expected to provide improved air transportation services for the growing number of international and domestic passengers and cargo. In addition, it will strengthen the country's civil aviation sector and contribute to economic and social development, as well as tourism.
Chinese builders enhance efforts in infrastructure construction of Africa
Sinomach subsidiary China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) has built two stadiums for Limbe and Bafoussam, two important cities in Cameroon. The projects have raised the level of the country's sport competition and infrastructure construction and brought a number of job opportunities, greatly improving the local people's lives.
