Home-made hand cream
Now without further ado, let’s get right to our famed home-made hand cream.
What you will need:
- 1/3 cup of your preferred base oil such as sweet almond oil
- 1/3 cup shredded beeswax
- Bowl and pan
- 1/3 cup cocoa butter
- Your preferred variety of essential oils
- Containers or jars (use dark colored to keep the contents cool)
Among the best base oils that you can use include olive oil which can serve an excellent nourishing cream and the calendula oil which is ideal for people dealing with scars on their skin or for those who have sensitive skins.
Place an empty bowl over a pan which is half filled with water and heat with a lowfire. As the bowl begins to heat, pour the beeswax and cocoa butter carefully in the bowl.
Constantly and slowly stir until the wax is thoroughly melted and mixed with the butter. Once the solution is mixed thoroughly, remove the bowl from the pan to cool and add your preferred essential oil. This would also require constant stirring to ensure uniformity of the solution.
Once finely mixed, pour the solution over a container or jar. Always make sure to use a dark colored or tinted container to keep the solution cool – bright colored or transparent jars and containers have the tendency to absorb light and heat which could alter the effects of the solution.
Allow the solution to cool in the container or jar overnight and place them in the fridge for a few hours after.
